Kibiji is a plain located on the west side of Okayama city. The 16-km (about 10-mile) Kibiji Bike Path runs through the area.
Rice fields and peach orchards surround the bike path. You will find people, who walk their dogs, do farm work, go to school, around the bike path. You can see daily life in Japan.
Along the way you can stop by Kibitsu Shrine, where Momotaro (Japanese most famous folktale's hero) is enshrined, five-story pagoda, some burial mounds.
You can hire bicycles at bike rental shops, Araki-rent-a-cycle (JR Soja station) and Uedo-rent-a-cycle (JR Bizen-Ichinomiya station), located at the beginning and end of the bike path.
It takes 1.5 or 2 hours, cycling from Soja to BIzen-Icinomiya. Include sightseeing, it takes about 3 or 4 hours.
You can use the "drop-off" service, which allows you to return your bike to the other rental bike shop than where you rent it.

It is a popular cycling route across the Kibi plain. it is a very flat road with signs for bicycles. Students going to school and farmers going to their fields pass this road every day.
BiTCHU KOKUBUN‐JI temple
The pagoda is a landmark of Kibiji.
This pagoda was built in (1704-1711). It was built to protect the country from natural disasters and famine with the help of Buddhism.
Kibitsu-jinja
It is the largest and oldest shrine in Okayama Prefecture. The main building is masterpiece of Japanese architecture.
